As the first musical guest we can welcome one of the most outstanding singers of our time, tenor Michael Schade. He will interpret Franz Schubert's “An die Musik” for you together with Kristin Okerlund (piano).
This is followed by the PHILHARMONIC 5, well know from the intermission films of the Vienna Philharmonic's New Year's concert. They will perform Johann Strauss ’"Paszman Czardas".
After an exclusive presentation of a surprise by the Austrian contemporary painter Oskar Stocker to the director of the museum, Dr. Sabine Haag, - Sascha Goetzel invites Dr. Haag for a chat to the café of the museum. In a very personal interview, she gives insights into her life as a director and the importance of art and culture in connection with the fundamental questions of humanity: Where do we come from? Where are we? Where are we going?
This is followed by musical performances by two young talents, Dorothy Kadem Missagh (piano) and Mariam Battistelli (soprano), mixed with an exclusive tour of the museum together with curator Sophie Führer.
Curator Sophie Führer discusses the painting “Tower of Babel” with us. It tells us a part of human history where the belief in absolute unity and equality was declared the highest value, regardless of the fact that it is accompanied by the obliteration of all individuality and diversity.
After the collapse of the tower, God provided for a diversity in languages and thus for a constructive diversity that could manifest itself in the art and culture of all societies through history.
We look forward to inviting you on a special journey through 5000 years of human cultural history with music, history and culture from Vienna.
